Loris Segmüller, Head of Vocational Education and Training tells us
Loris Segmüller accompanies the apprentices from their first day at work to their final exams. In his function as head of vocational training, he helps to impart valuable knowledge about the production of highly complex components on state-of-the-art equipment to the next generation. Our apprenticeships
Polytechnician (Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate)
- Duration of apprenticeship 4 years
The work of our polymechanics enables us to produce high-tech workpieces and develop new technology. You will program work processes using our computer-assisted machinery, or produce components using our conventional lathes and mills. You will use design drawings to define machining steps and program complex workpieces. You will check the finished workpieces using high-precision measuring and testing equipment.
Production mechanic (Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate)
- Duration of apprenticeship 3 years
Production mechanics are skilled in metalwork techniques such as drilling, turning and milling, and use these skills to produce high-tech workpieces. You will manufacture series parts using computer-assisted machinery, monitor the production process, step in when necessary to make adjustments, and test the finished parts using the latest measuring equipment. You must be able to prepare and operate the work materials needed for your jobs without assistance, ensuring that your work is exact and of the high quality required.
