Polytechnician traineeship (Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate)
at August Manser AG

The work of our polymechanics enables us to produce high-tech workpieces and develop new technology. You will program work processes using our computer-assisted machinery, or produce components using our conventional lathes and mills. You will use design drawings to define machining steps and program complex workpieces. You will check the finished workpieces using high-precision measuring and testing equipment.

Educational requirements

  • Completed senior high school to middle or advanced level (“Stellwerkcheck” certificate)
  • Completed senior high school to basic or middle level (“Stellwerkcheck” certificate)

 

Practical Training Basis: 1st and 2nd year of apprenticeship

  • Manual production technology
  • Measurement techniques
  • CNC production
  • Cross-company courses
  • Interim examination at end of 2nd year of training

Focus: 3rd and 4th year of apprenticeship

  • Gathering more in-depth knowledge
  • 2 competences
  • CNC lathing and CNC milling
  • Practical examination

Theoretical training

Level G

  • 1st year of training: 2 days of school per week
  • 2nd and 4th year of training: 1 day of school per week

Level E

  • 1st and 2nd year of training: 2 days of school per week
  • 3rd and 4th year of training: 1 day of school per week

Level E + BMS [= Swiss Vocational School]

  • 1st to 4th year of training: 2 days of school per week
