Insights into precision manufacturing

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming 39 future polymechanics and design engineers from the Rorschach-Rheintal Vocational and Further Education Centre.
We showed them how parts and components are turned into a finished, functional product. The future professionals were impressed by the current trends and possibilities in precision manufacturing with the highest degree of automation. In the assembly department, they were then able to see how assemblies and systems are put together to form a complete mechanical product.
Ultimately, at Zünd Systemtechnik AG, they were able to witness the final assembly of controls and electronics first-hand and see the end product, a cutting plotter, in action. It was great to see how committed and interested the future professionals were.
We are sure that they will make a great contribution to Swiss industry in the future. In times of a shortage of skilled workers and digitalisation, it is all the more important to get young people excited about technical professions and show them the current opportunities.
